Findings in Gallup’s most recent State of the American Workplace Report noted that only 21% of respondents strongly agreed that they have performance metrics that are within their control. The report also identified three major reasons why team members were not motivated to perform at their very best everyday: (1) unclear and misaligned expectations; (2) ineffective and infrequent feedback; and (3) unfair evaluation practices and misplaced accountability.
