CHANTILLY, Va., Dec. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- For Children's Sake (FCSV) and JustSing, a non-profit organization that develops awareness and advocacy through group musical experiences will hold a partnered sing along on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the newly-opened Independence High School in Ashburn, VA.
This an open group sing-a-long will help raise awareness about the immediate need for foster families for children in need both locally and nationally. JustSing's choir director, Dan Simrell will teach a group of "any and all" willing singers the Jason Mraz song titled, "I Won't Give Up." In a span of an hour, Simrell will teach people of all ages and backgrounds melodies and harmonies leading to a live-stream sing-a-long. JustSing will showcase to the world how strangers can become friends, united by a common song and goal.
"Fostering a child feels like a temporary fix to a serious problem however, my years of experience working with foster families says otherwise. I know without question that nothing a foster parent does to help a child through a difficult time is temporary. Years later foster children remember who helped them. That is the exact reason we are excited to host a sing-along to raise awareness about adoption and foster care, we need more foster/adopt parents for our incredible kids." Deb Evans, CEO/FCS.
This event will also host attendee and spokesperson, Cordelia Cranshaw, Miss District of Columbia USA, Top 10 Miss USA 2019 and a former foster child herself. Ms. Cranshaw is also the founder of the non-profit organization, Acts of Random Kindness (ARK).
