J.W. Murphy’s new book gives readers ‘A View from Above’
STRASBURG, Ohio (PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- With a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology and a Master of Divinity, author J.W. Murphy has studied the Bible extensively. He’s not only studied the Bible in the classroom; he’s also studied it in daily life.
Murphy puts his passion and knowledge to the page in his new Biblical guide, “A View from Above: Options for Understanding the Revelation of Jesus Christ” (published by WestBow Press), which discusses at length, Revelation and its many interpretations.
“I have long been concerned that when people are exposed to Revelation, they encounter only one interpretation,” Murphy says. “In my own teaching on the subject, I provided several options as well as an explanation of why I understand the book as I do.”
“A View from Above” presents readers with an in-depth look at Revelation, using Murphy’s extensive knowledge on the biblical section to paint a clear picture of the text. Murphy analyzes Revelation heavily in hopes of dispelling any misconceptions readers may have about the Bible and its message, so that they may arrive at their own conclusions.
Murphy also takes readers beyond Revelation, discussing the issues he sees in the Church and society which, he says, have made a book such as his necessary in the first place. Through discussing the societal issues and misconceptions he commonly sees, he hopes to prevent readers from falling into the same traps.
“Interest in Revelation continues to be strong, even when there is confusion and misinformation,” Murphy says. “Many readers will appreciate a fair and respectful treatment of various points of view, as well as an emphasis on the contemporary practice of Revelation’s message.”
