Herndon, VA (PRWEB) February 20, 2014 -- K12 Inc., the nation’s leading provider of proprietary curriculum and online school programs for students in pre-K through high school, is proud to announce that its Noodleverse and EmbarK12 Online products, which offer dynamic web-based activities for early learners, have each received the distinguished 2014 Parents' Choice Award ® for best educational platform. This is the second consecutive year that K12 products have been recognized by the Parents’ Choice Foundation, the nation’s oldest non-profit consumer guide for quality children’s media which prides itself as a leading consumer-product watchdog for educational media and toys.
The Parents Choice Awards are distributed annually by a team of judges who are experts in areas of industry and interest, from dinosaurs to digital media and from mathematics to making mayhem. The award selection process queries developmentally appropriate content and challenges, design and function, educational value, long-term play value, and the benefits to a child’s social and emotional growth and well-being. Fewer than 20% of the products submitted to the program receive any level of commendation.
“We are honored that the Parents’ Choice Foundation continues to recognize the educational value and quality of K12’s learning programs,” said Tom DiGiovanni, vice president of K12’s product development. “The Parents’ Choice Award is not only a testament to the creativity and expertise of our curriculum development team, but also a tremendous validation of K12’s commitment to providing highly effective and engaging education solutions for children.”
