K12’s Mobile Reading App Wins 2014 Parents’ Choice Award
Herndon, VA (PRWEB) March 10, 2014 -- K12 Inc., the nation’s leading provider of proprietary curriculum and online school programs for students in pre-K through high school, is proud to announce that its Timed Reading & Comprehension Practice mobile app, which lets readers practice reading fluency and comprehension skills, was recommended by the Parents’ Choice Foundation.
The Parents Choice Awards are distributed annually by a team of judges who are experts in areas of industry and interest, from dinosaurs to digital media and from mathematics to making mayhem. The award selection process queries developmentally appropriate content and challenges, design and function, educational value, long-term play value, and the benefits to a child’s social and emotional growth and well-being. Fewer than 20% of the products submitted to the program receive any level of commendation.
“This is the third K12 application to be recognized this year by the prestigious Parents’ Choice Foundation,” said Abha DasGupta, vice president of mobile & gaming at K12 Inc. “K12 mobile apps provide convenient and dynamic educational solutions to students, families, and teachers seeking additional content to enrich learning. The award truly underscores the commitment of our hard working designers and developers to create effective high-quality, multi-media education products for children to use across multiple technology platforms.”
