Denise Thomas, the Alumni+ coordinator at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, is inviting students, alumni, faculty, staff, and members of the community to share the names and accomplishments of outstanding Kalamazoo Valley alumni to be considered for the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award.
The college named its first Distinguished Alumni, Jeffrey Melvin, in 2013. Since that time, four additional alumni have received the honor. They are: NoViolet Bulawayo (2014), Dr. Phillip Potter (2015), Paul Abrahamsen (2017), and Grace Baysinger (2018). All who have received the award are named on a plaque displayed outside the president's office at the Texas Township Campus.
