For 40 years, author Kay J. Mahne has helped many students with different abilities to learn mathematics successfully, becoming extensively experienced in the field of education. Now, she pursues what she believes to be her greatest contribution to the educational world, namely helping produce educators who know how to teach clearly. Her literary debut, Capturing Minds by Capturing Hearts: 40 Ways in 40 Days to be a Better Teacher, is an overall philosophical yet practical approach to teaching aimed at aiding educators in being successful with their students in the classroom.
Mahne believes that every student deserves a chance to learn, she believes that if students are given excellent instruction, then they can learn well. She has experienced this with her own pupils, and knows personally that a student’s education will be the single greatest accomplishment that will help them succeed in the world, for it has the potential to change their lives forever. Capturing Minds by Capturing Hearts gives all educators the tools necessary to make this happen, the instruments to aid them in guiding their students towards personal actualization.
It is comprehensive and insightful, drawing from the author’s 40 years of experience in the classroom, and her global scope in the education of students from the kindergarten level up through college. Mahne is currently teaching teachers themselves, showing them how to teach their students, and how they can impact society and empower the next generation through their actions. Her book is a continuation of the principles and values she has practiced her entire life, which she has brought to countless classrooms, and instilled into the hearts and minds of her students.
Capturing Minds by Capturing Hearts offers 40 ways in 40 days to be a better teacher with methods that have been time-tested by the author. This book will pique readers’ curiosity, challenge their outlook on teaching, and expand their vision of who they are and who they can yet become.
