Alcohol & Drug Rehab Kelowna Launches Program to Help Adults and Adolescents Stop Ecstasy Addiction
Kelowna, Canada (PRWEB) January 10, 2014 -- A Kelowna alcohol and drug rehab center is introducing a program geared toward helping adults and adolescents stop their cocaine addiction at Drug Addiction Treatment Centers.
Based on information released by the National Anti-Drug Strategy in Canada, ecstasy is "a street drug only made in illegal labs. Tablets may not even contain ecstasy - they could be filled with cornstarch, soaps, detergents or other drugs. The logos on the tablets are meaningless. They don't identify what's in the pills or what are the risks. The effects of a single hit of ecstasy can last from 3 to 6 hours - but the after-effects may last for days or weeks (much longer than any party). Short-term effects are unpredictable; may cause euphoria, as well as anxiety, decreased appetite, increased blood pressure and heart rate, teeth grinding, nausea, paranoia, hallucinations and more. Long-term effects of ecstasy use include weight loss, exhaustion, anxiety, depression, psychotic symptoms and more."
When adults and adolescents enter Drug Addiction Treatment Centers in Kelowna, they have a chance to stop their dependence upon ecstasy. Ecstasy also is known as E, XTC, Love Drug, and Euphoria on the street.
A part of this process is detoxification, cleansing out the physical body filled with mind-altering substances. Once this process takes place, then counseling and therapeutic methods can enter into play. More times than not, there are real-life issues that a person has used drugs to hide, repress or deny within themselves. Some issues might include physical, emotional, spiritual or mental abuse. Drug rehab allows clients time to discern and figure out what is their truth around these situations.
Counselors and therapists with many years of experience in the field of substance abuse treatment and addiction can help make the transition from addiction to recovery easier. These drug rehab staff members can rely on their personal and professional experiences with addiction to offer compassion and support to recovering individuals working to overcome their addictions.
These centers exist to support and guide recovering individuals as they learn to seek a different path that does not involve drugs. Entering and going through drug rehab can become a life-changing journey for any person serious about kicking their habit.
