He calls out for all men to stand up and regain their given right to be strong, confident and legally sound fathers

Author Kevin R. McKinney remembers his personal experiences with the Family Court System, his efforts to stay in his daughters’ lives, and the difficulty of keeping his focus on his right to be a father while dealing with his inner struggle to maintain his relationship with those most precious to him. These inspired him to create a book that shows how a man matures mentally and evolves from a potentially absentee father to a strong, legal and responsible dad for his children fully aware of “A Father’s Right to Be a Dad.”

McKinney’s book recollects the processes he undertook to repair his family, something that many other fathers can relate to as they fight to maintain or reestablish a relationship with their children. He calls out for all men to stand up and regain their given right to be strong, confident and legally sound fathers. As a tool, McKinney’s work can be studied, challenged and embraced by the men who desire to indulge in a strong, loving, and meaningful relationship with their children without the constant financial restraints placed upon them by the legal system.

Through the author’s transparency, readers will be able to identify with subjects still very prevalent today – namely broken families, single parent homes, absentee fathers, crime and imprisonment. Male readers can find guidance in this, particularly those who are going through circumstances similar to McKinney’s. Female readers, on the other hand, will be able to see how a man processes the horrible idea of leaving his child. It will also allow readers to enter the psyche of the author’s mind to see the inner mental and spiritual struggles that he dealt with when he underwent the process of deciding on whether to stay with his daughters or leave them.

This book shows the road to self-healing and self-improvement, which in McKinney’s case, was in his self-acknowledgment of his faults and short comings. It is the author’s hope that readers become empowered by knowledge and understanding.
