Lawsuit Settled for Key West Hotel Guest Who Fell Down Open Elevator Shaft
KEY WEST, FL (PRWEB) April 16, 2014 -- A recent settlement put an end to the litigation involving a guest at Galleon Resort and Hotel on Front Street, Key West who was injured when he fell into an open elevator shaft that was allegedly not blocked off while repairs were being performed. The guest, Burch, brought a lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Monroe County, Key West Division, Case Number 2013CA-48-K under Burch v. Galleon Resort.
"With trial expected to be set within the next few months, the parties were able to work towards amicable resolution of this matter," says Victim's Rights Attorney Jason Turchin, who represents Burch.
A mediation took place last week, but the case did not settle. "Sometimes cases still get resolved before trial," adds Turchin. "We continued to fight for our client's rights to get him the compensation he deserves, and the parties were later able to come to a resolution."
