KnowFully Learning Group (“KnowFully” or the “Company“), a leading provider of education in the accounting, finance, and healthcare sectors, today announced the launch of SurgentIQ™, an online learning center delivering skill-building educational courses and certifications for current and aspiring accounting and finance professionals. KnowFully also announced SurgentIQ’s inaugural certificate course, Data Analytics: Excel and Power BI for Accounting and Finance Professionals. This launch expands the footprint for Surgent, a KnowFully company, within the accounting and finance education industry, where it already delivers Surgent Exam Review, which offers award-winning test prep courses for the CPA Exam, EA Exam, CMA Exam, and others, and Surgent CPE, a best-in-class provider of continuing professional education (CPE) for CPAs and other tax and financial professionals. By adding SurgentIQ and its focus on delivering targeted upskilling and reskilling courses to its line-up of offerings, Surgent now fully supports the educational needs for accounting and financial professionals across their career life cycle.

With Surgent’s 35+ years of experience leading the accounting and finance education space, SurgentIQ is uniquely positioned to draw on its industry expertise, pedagogical know-how, and best-in-class learning technology to deliver a meaningful educational experience for the student. Its selection of courses feature forward-thinking yet highly practical content, as well as engaging instruction, to give students the skills they need to immediately apply their learnings to their day-to-day career. Meanwhile, convenience and ease-of-use are at the forefront of the user experience, thanks to its fully online and on-demand courseware, which allows students to consume lessons at their own pace, whenever and wherever fits them best. SurgentIQ’s courses are offered as full professional certificate-eligible series, or as individual modules.

“The need to learn shouldn’t stop with earning a credential, or fulfilling one’s annual CPE credit requirements,” says Eric Cantor, CEO of KnowFully Learning Group. “Professionals of all experience levels, from entry level to front-line managers, to more senior executives, are looking for more relevant and timely learning opportunities to gain the in-depth, hands-on, and skills-based knowledge needed to serve their clients, enhance job skills, and advance their careers.”

Indeed, the trend towards skills training and micro-credentialing has only become more pronounced as emerging technologies disrupt traditional accounting practices, sometimes fully automating job tasks, but always introducing opportunities to harness the massive amount of information being produced to improve business performance. It is for this reason that SurgentIQ will launch with a data analytics professional certification course as its inaugural offering.

“We’re seeing more and more hiring managers opt for applicants with IT and data science backgrounds over those with more traditional accounting backgrounds,” says Liz Kolar, KnowFully’s Chief Knowledge Officer. “At the same time, Learning and Development departments are encouraging their existing accounting and financial professionals to develop those skills. Simply put, data analytics skills are becoming an increasingly integral component to accounting and finance work. Our certification course truly enables professionals to incorporate data analytics into their day-to-day.”

Core Data Analytics: Excel and Power BI Skills for Accounting and Finance Professionals is a 10-part series built to equip professionals with the skills they need to employ Excel and Power BI to develop their own self-service data analysis. Participants who complete all ten modules will earn a professional certificate and are eligible to earn up to 10 continuing education credits.

Instructed by Virginia Collins, a former manager in the Quality Control Department of Berdon LLP, the Data Analytics course harnesses her more-than-35-years of experience in public accounting, and leverages her broad experience in auditing, accounting, and internal controls. Ms. Collins is a Certified Informational Technology Professional (CITP), which is a specialty designation awarded by the AICPA to CPAs with the unique ability to bridge business and technology.

The course modules include:
Pt 1: Data Extraction and Data Sources
Pt 2: Data Preparation Using Get and Transform
Pt 3: Formulas, Named Ranges, and Formula Accounting
Pt 4: Excel Tables
Pt 5: Pivot Tables
Pt 6: Data Modeling
