75 percent of luxury home buyers believe home ownership is a sounder investment than the stock market.
57 percent of luxury home owners say home ownership is a bigger indicator of success than their job or title.
Troy Stavros, Broker with Gables & Gates, Realtors and founder of the Luxury Homes of Knoxville and 865 Real Estate websites stated, "Luxury home buyers in Knoxville are very particular about where they choose to call home. Not only does the home need to fulfill their needs in the way they live but it has to speak to who they are as a person as well. When they find that home, they aren't afraid to pay top dollar for it."
The following are some additional highlights of the survey:
53 percent prefer owning multiple “lifestyle” homes to support their lifestyle activities, whether it be golfing or boating.
58 percent of the luxury home buyers say they already owned multiple homes to support their lifestyle activities.
60 percent of luxury home buyers said they would rather have upgrades rather than greater square footage.
94 percent would give up 1,000 square feet of living space in order to get the amenities they most desire, (i.e.: better neighborhood, living in a house with “character,” more land, access to dining and entertainment, and a shorter commute.
66 percent would rather have a “smart” home than a “green” home.
87 percent responded they would not consider purchasing a home that was not tech-friendly.
Luxury homebuyers placed a high value on outdoor amenities as must-have essentials in a home. (i.e.: garden oasis, outdoor fireplace, or separate guest house)
