La Botana Owner and Army Vet Honors Memorial Day Via a Donation Drive
Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) May 20, 2015 -- In honor of upcoming Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, La Botana Fresco Grill & Cantina, a family owned and operated restaurant, run by an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, will be donating 10% of each of its customers’ bills to USA Cares on Memorial Day and through May 31. USA Cares helps bear the burdens of service by providing post-911 military families with financial and advocacy support in their time of need.
“This is our way of giving back to vets who need assistance as a thank you for all they have given our country,” said Arnoldo Silva, owner of La Botana, which features a unique Southern Mexico cuisine. “The 10% donation drive runs from when we open on Memorial Day through May 31.”
In addition to the donation drive, Arnoldo and La Botana since opening more than five years ago have been offering 25% daily discounts to active military personnel with ID. Helping vets and active duty personnel is a personal mission for Arnoldo, who himself is in the Army Reserves and was able to finish college on the GI Bill. “There isn’t enough being done for military people, so whatever I can do to help them I will,” said Arnoldo.
To contribute to USA Cares via the donation drive and to experience authentic Mexican cuisine, come down to La Botana from May 25-31 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant is located at 3200 N. 1st Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85719.
