US Sports Camps and Nike Cal Lacrosse Camps to Host 2015 Summer Camps at UC Berkeley
San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) May 08, 2015 -- The Nike Cal Girls Lacrosse Camp offers campers from around the country a unique opportunity to advance their lacrosse skills. With three different programs to choose from, campers have the opportunity to attend the program that best suits their age and ability level.
Directing the girl’s camp is Brooke Eubanks, California’s Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. "Hosting our Summer Lacrosse Camp provides players a great opportunity to improve on multiple areas of their game,” says Coach Eubanks. Currently in her first season at Cal, Coach Eubanks joins the Golden Bears program after a successful tenure with the Stanford Cardinal Women’s Lacrosse Team. Assisting Coach Eubanks includes first-year assistants Kacie Lewis, a four-year letter winner at UConn, and former Golden Bear standout, Megan Takacs.
With instruction covering fundamental skills, position play and team concepts, the Little Bears Day Camp (ages 7-12) and the Cal Bears Developmental Camp (ages 12-18) both take place June 29-July 1. The Little Bears Day Camp takes place from 9:00am-3:00pm daily at Witter Field while the Developmental Camp takes place at Memorial Stadium from 9:00am-8:30pm daily.
The Cal Girls Elite Lacrosse Camp (ages 13-18) takes place July 29-31 and offers both overnight and extended day camp options. Instruction focuses on advanced skills, position play and team concepts while maintaining an overall intense level of competition. The program also offers training specifically for goalies, involving the development of their positioning, stick handling and situational game management. Campers train at Memorial Stadium and will compete in scrimmages daily to implement the skill work they learned throughout the day in a competitive environment.
The Nike Cal Boys Lacrosse Camp takes place June 29-July 1 and offers players ages 10-18 the opportunity to improve their skills in a competitive environment. The three-day program runs from 9:00am-4:00pm daily at Cal’s new Maxwell Field located next to Memorial Stadium.
The camp is directed by new Golden Bear Men’s Lacrosse Coach, Ned Webster along with his UC Berkeley coaching staff and current players. Stick work, individual and defensive skills, as well as team and defensive concepts will be covered during the camp. In addition, campers will have the opportunity to take a tour of Memorial Stadium.
