Eat|See|Hear Presents Award Winning Cult Classic at LA Drive-In Movie
(PRWEB) July 22, 2013 -- Eat|See|Hear, an LA outdoor cinema series, will show the Oscar winning cult classic, Almost Famous, Saturday, July 27, at the Los Angeles Trade Tech College. This outdoor event will also feature LA food trucks and live music. Local acts The Cerny Brothers and The Miracle Parade will perform. Several food trucks will be on-hand for movie-goers, including Gravy Train, Vizzi Truck, Coolhaus, Brasil Kiss, and Crepe de Ville. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., music begins at 7 p.m. and Almost Famous starts at 8:30 p.m.
Almost Famous, a 2000 film written and directed by Cameron Crowe, is the semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story of 15-year-old William Miller, accidentally tasked with interviewing a touring rock band, after his Rolling Stone editor fails to realize his true age.
Along the way, William is befriended by groupie, Penny Lane, played by the beautiful Kate Hudson, and the two play witness to a series of hard partying rock and roll events, including LSD experimentation at a house party, in which the guitarist instructs William to reveal his last words to be “I’m on drugs!” before jumping off a roof into a pool, Penny’s Quaalude overdose and a near plane crash.
“We cannot wait to show Almost Famous at the drive-in. It is an absolute classic,” Eat|See|Hear Co-owner Sharon Sperber said. “Who hasn’t wanted to hit the road with their favorite band and follow them on tour?”
General admission tickets are $10, and drive-in tickets are available for $15. Tickets for this event are available at eventbrite.com.
