“I look forward to carrying the torch and continuing to enable every attorney and legal professional in our office to do their best on behalf of Lathrop GPM clients and to enjoy the journey along the way.”
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) January 10, 2023
Lathrop GPM LLP is pleased to announce that Frank Sciremammano has been named the Partner in Charge of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He succeeds Eric Yaffe, who held the position for 17 years. Yaffe will continue with his full-time legal practice representing corporations, franchises and individuals in high-stakes litigation and investigations across the country.
“I am grateful to Eric for his leadership over the last 17 years. This office would not be what it is without it. He makes everyone feel that they belong,” said Sciremammano. “I look forward to carrying the torch and continuing to enable every attorney and legal professional in our office to do their best on behalf of Lathrop GPM clients and to enjoy the journey along the way.”
Sciremammano primarily focuses his practice on franchise and distribution litigation. He advises some of the nation's largest franchisors in the restaurant, autobody, janitorial, and senior care and assisted living industries. He also defends and prosecutes cases on the franchisors’ behalf in matters involving the enforcement of covenants not to compete, vicarious liability, business torts, and trademark infringement, among other issues.
A member of the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, Sciremammano was named a 2022 Washington, D.C, Rising Star by Super Lawyers®. He has been published in The Franchise Lawyer and Franchise Law Journal and has spoken at programs for the International Franchise Association (IFA), 1851 Franchise, and ABA Forum on Franchising. He received a B.A. from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2009 and a J.D., summa cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law in 2012. Sciremammano resides in Falls Church, Virginia.
“I have enjoyed being the Partner in Charge for many years. I’ve had the opportunity to interview and hire most people in the D.C. office. The opportunity to grow the office from a franchise practice to one that handles intellectual property, investigations and white-collar defense, and regulatory work is an honor,” said Yaffe. “It’s also time for new ideas, thoughts, and approaches as we move forward. I’m confident Frank is the right leader and will continue to grow the office and its various practices.”
Best known for their representation of national and international franchisors, the firm’s Washington, D.C., attorneys also focus on several other areas of law, including intellectual property, commercial litigation and white-collar investigations. In addition, attorneys in the D.C. office regularly represent businesses, individuals, and trustees involved in disputes related to the purchase, sale and operation of companies, business assets and real estate. Over the past few years, the firm has continued to grow its DC office with the addition of new partners and associates, and a new practice group focused on advertising and food & drug law.
