The recognitions conferred on the 20th annual awards night (Tuesday, October 13) are considered the events and meetings industry’s top honors, also saluting emerging leaders in the modern marketplace with the Pacesetter Awards.
This year’s gala is marked as a pivotal turn in the history of the Convention Industry Council as Laura Schwartz kicks off an electric and stylish celebration, breaking away from the buttoned-down formats of years past. In MGM’s Marquee Ballroom, Laura will lead the audience in honoring the 2015 Hall of Leaders class: Patricia Farías Barlow (Puerto Vallarta Convention Center), Larry Luteran (Hilton Worldwide), Jane E. Schuldt (World Marketing Group, Ltd.), Craig Smith (Freeman Audio Visual) and Amy Spatrisano (MeetGreen). Pacesetter Awards winners Rafael Hernández, Kate Patay and Kinga Soćko will also be recognized.
“It is an incredible honor and privilege to be invited to emcee this landmark 20th celebration with the support of CEO Karen Kotowski and the brilliant team behind the Convention Industry Council,” remarks Laura. “This week is the pinnacle of professionalism and networking in the industry, and the eight inductees we will be commemorating this year perfectly represent what the CIC is all about!”
