RE/MAX Realtor Laurie Kaufman Supports Humane Society of Boulder Valley
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) April 12, 2016 -- RE/MAX Realtor Laurie Kaufman will be volunteering for the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s Puttin’ on the Leash 2016 Masquerade. The event is scheduled for April 16 at the Coors Event Center, CU Boulder. “It feels good to volunteer my time and resources to help support the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, which saves the lives of animals,” said Kaufman, who donates a portion of her earnings from every sale to the Humane Society of Boulder and Longmont to help them do this. “Funds raised will also help protect and enhance the lives of companion animals.”
The Humane Society of Boulder Valley provides shelter and care to more than 7,000 animals each year, as well as saves animals’ lives. According to the ASPCA, 2.7 million animals are euthanized a year, and 80% of these animals were healthy and treatable and could have been adopted into homes. “This is like filling Folsom Field 50 times with an animal on each person’s lap,” said Kaufman. “By supporting organizations like the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, we can greatly reduce the number of animals euthanized.”
The Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s yearly event is a unique, themed experience that includes delicious food from Boulder’s best restaurants, complimentary libation stations with beer and wine from Superior Liquor and hundreds of items attendees can bid on during a silent and live auction. The silent auction will feature more than 600 items donated by more than 300 area businesses, including unique jewelry and clothing items, fine art, sports memorabilia, items for the home, a large selection of animal-related products and more. At the close of the silent auction, guests will move to the live auction, which features a trip to the Riviera Maya, a week in Whistler, BC, and beautiful diamond jewelry.
“It will be a fun evening that will also make it possible for the Humane Society of Boulder Valley to continue providing individualized care to animals in need,” said Kaufman.
