Lawline has launched a 12-part Industry series as part of its larger goal of helping attorneys grow their practice.
Lawline Industry represents a new way in continuing legal education (CLE) that breaks the traditional CLE mold by shifting the focus of courses from law firm practice areas to the industries that lawyers serve. This enables lawyers to broaden the base of their knowledge by focusing on the issues that face specific industries. In May, 49 faculty from 30 firms and corporations produced content addressing the aviation, insurance, retail, and food, beverage and agriculture industries. Eight more industry focused events consisting of multiple programs have been scheduled, including a Data Breach and Privacy series in August.
In conjunction with the launch of the Industry series, Lawline is excited to collaborate with lawyer/author Michael Singer, creator and author of Practising Law Institute’s popular weekly newsletter series that included Lawyer’s Toolbox and Pocket MBA: Everything an Attorney Needs to Know About Finance. In order to provide a unique view of the legal industry, Lawline’s Program Attorney team will collaborate with Michael to produce original content that provides additional insight into the Industry curriculum. Materials will offer real-world color as an additional resource, giving lawyers an opportunity to learn beyond the programs themselves.
“In an ever evolving legal industry, we are dedicated to continuously providing the best insights and tools to help attorneys continue growing their practice.” Sigalle Barness, Vice President of Programs, said. “Lawline Industry will provide our members an additional resource for understanding the legal market, the practice of law and the clients they serve.”
