Succeed Management Solutions, LLC Offers a New Lead Awareness Online Training Course
Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) August 31, 2016 -- Succeed Management Solutions, LLC has released a new Lead Awareness training course outlining ways organizations can minimize the negative effects of lead exposure in the workplace. Federal agencies including the CDC, OSHA, and EPA heavily regulate the use of lead, due to its adverse health effects. Workers may be exposed to lead in many industry sectors including construction, manufacturing, transportation, wholesale trade, and recreation. Lead exposure is required by law to be monitored and mitigated.
Recent events, like the drinking water exposure incident in Flint, Michigan, remind us how important it is to be proactive about lead awareness and prevention. Officials had neglected to apply corrosion control measures at the water treatment plant, causing lead to leak into the water supply as the water flowed through old pipes and fixtures (from Los Angeles Times, 06/23/16).
Succeed’s Lead Awareness course focuses on describing the potential hazards of lead in the body in adults and children, including common causes of lead exposure and symptoms of lead poisoning and contamination. The course explains administrative and engineering controls to combat lead exposure including hazard assessment and monitoring, personal protective equipment, and policy and documentation requirements required by OSHA.
As with all Succeed courses, this training can be assigned to employees via Training Track™, an application that is designed to automate all aspects of an employee training program. Training Track™ is one of the available applications in Succeed’s web-based Risk Management Center. The Risk Management Center also contains other OSHA-required programs, training materials, and integrated software solutions.
Organizations can also access the trainings via OpenSesame: Lead Awareness
