According to Baymard Institute, a web research company in the UK, 67.45% of online shopping carts are abandoned, across different industries. And judging by the results of an offline retail sales research conducted by Retail Metrics Inc. and announced by Bloomberg, the numbers are not better there – the study showed the industry’s first profit quarterly drop since the economic contraction that ended in 2009.
