"The potential safety and environmental risks are enormous if manufacturers can’t find a way to grow future generations of leaders that have both strong technical and leadership skills."

Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based management consulting firm Success Labs has published “Leadership Development for Manufacturing Companies: How to Prepare for the Leadership Vacuum.” This free guide was created for manufacturing companies that need to develop a new generation of leaders to ensure their future success and growth.

Research shows leadership development is essential to the bottom line in companies across industries. But the stakes are higher in manufacturing than in any other industry, says Success Labs President Devin Lemoine. “The potential safety and environmental risks are enormous if manufacturers can’t find a way to grow future generations of leaders that have both strong technical and leadership skills. The only way to do this is with a commitment to leadership development and an active strategy to keep developing strong manufacturing leaders.”

The guide contains manufacturing industry-specific leadership development advice and insights from Lemoine as well as Charles P. Freeburgh, senior vice chancellor of workforce development at Baton Rouge Community College and former vice president of advocacy at Axiall Corp; Jen Stefanik, global program manager of GE’s operations management leadership program; and Phil La Duke, safety thought leader at sustainability consultancy ERM.

“This guide is essential reading for manufacturing industry leaders who are committed to preparing their companies to survive and thrive in the coming years,” Lemoine says. “That preparation includes identifying high-potential employees, nurturing them and establishing a path for them to move up through the leadership ranks to replace key contributors who are moving out of the workforce.”
