Cleveland, Ohio (PRWEB) November 11, 2013
Since its introduction in 1998, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification has been awarded to more than 45,000 projects worldwide, translating in large part to an estimated $96-140 billion green building industry in 2013.(1) With green building expected to account for more than half of U.S. construction investment by 2016, architects, builders and owners want to highlight the design elements of their buildings that earn LEED certification.(2)
To communicate the design elements that earn LEED certification, LEEDPLAQUES.COM introduces a customizable LEED plaque that communicates the design elements that earn certification; both showcasing the project and educating the public about LEED. Until LEEDPLAQUES.COM, there has not been a fast and easy way to create signage that communicates the design elements of a project that earn LEED certification.
Building a plaque on LEEDPLAQUES.COM is fast and easy because LEEDPLAQUES.COM is integrated into USGBC’s database. With a LEED Project ID# and an image of the project, the customer can build a customized plaque design in less than 10 minutes. An art proof is emailed for approval before production is initiated. Because LEEDPLAQUES.COM uses eight standard designs, the ready-to-mount plaque can be shipped just 3-4 weeks after the art proof is approved.
LEEDPLAQUES.COM designs are imaged upon durable ⅛” thick architectural grade anodized aluminum. Materials are recyclable and resistant to abrasion, graffiti, sunlight degradation/fading and extreme temperatures. Printing processes and finished plaques contain no VOCs. Plaques are available in color (indoor only) or black and white (outdoor/indoor) in both portrait and landscape orientations. All plaques include stand-offs for easy installation.
“With the growth of commercial LEED projects, we noticed a number of LEED projects with little or no communication of the design attributes the earn LEED certification. LEEDPLAQUES.COM makes it easy for architects or building owners to purchase modern, high-quality signage that can be displayed in a lobby, hallway or even building exterior to highlight the design elements that earn LEED certification.” – Sam Wainer, Co-Founder
LEEDPLAQUES.COM makes it easy to build high quality, customized plaques to showcase the elements of a building that earn LEED certification. Our founding principles are:
--> Improve communication of LEED at the building site to benefit the builder, the designer and society by expanding understanding and awareness of the LEED rating system.
--> Create a design process and plaque that costs less time and money than custom signage, but communicates more than the LEED brand logo plaque alone.
--> Only use sustainable materials and processes.
