Left-Handed Mother's Photo Contest Winner Announced by Lefty's The Left Hand Store, Celebrating Left-Handed Mothers Day
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 09, 2014 -- Celebrating left-handed mothers, Lefty's The Left Hand Store announces the winner of its contest for the Best Photo of a Left-Handed Mother doing her favorite thing left-handed. The winner receives a $100 gift certificate to the store, and 2 runners up receive $50 gift certificates.
Held on Lefty's Facebook site, the contest was neck and neck between Anneliese Brown's photo of her mother Katie decorating cookies, and Craig Burns photo of his left-handed wife Denise taking photos of their daughter Violet. Late last night, Denise and Violet Burns picture pulled ahead of the shot of Katie industriously decorating a tray of large square cookies in syncopated geometric designs. Congratulations to both of them!
Left-handed mothers are relatively rare, because far more men than women are lefties and lefties make up only 10-15% of the population. Kids of left-handed mothers have a higher probability of being left-handed themselves. According to several studies, left-handed mothers not only have a far higher probability of having left-handed kids than right-handed moms, but they also produce more left-handed kids than left-handed dads. In other words, left-handed moms have stronger left-handed genes!
Kids of left-handed mothers may well have more fun, as lefties tend towards being creative and funny, and many enjoy making things.
Lefty's The Left Hand Store has the world's leading selection of products for left-handers, as well as great information about left-handedness and left-handed issues.
