Legendary Restaurant Minute Man Receives Nomination for 2019 Arkansas Food Hall of Fame
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (PRWEB) January 04, 2019 -- The legendary Arkansas hamburger restaurant Minute Man has been nominated for the prestigious 2019 Arkansas Food Hall of Fame. This program, created and managed by the Department of Arkansas Heritage, is a statewide effort to recognize the outstanding “taste-setters” in Arkansas. Eligible restaurants must be owned and operated in Arkansas and have been in business for at least 25 years.
Minute Man was founded by US Army veteran and entrepreneur Wes Hall and has been in operation in the state since 1948, at one time boasting 52 locations. Ms. McGoogan, purchased the El Dorado location in 1984 and is the sole proprietor and has been known to refer to herself as "the last Minute Man standing." Reflecting back, Ms. McGoogan says, "I have been in business for many years and I am so tickled to receive this nomination. But I really want to dedicate it to our customers. They are the ones who keep us going."
The 2019 Arkansas Food Hall of Fame Finalists will be announced on January 10, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. at the Department of Arkansas Heritage located at 1100 North Street, Little Rock, AR 72201. This year's winners of the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame will be announced at a reception and induction ceremony beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Ron Robinson Theater in Little Rock’s River Market District.
Admittance into the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame is an outstanding achievement and honors those legendary restaurants that have become prime attractions in "Authentic Arkansas," the places with the dishes one craves and will drive hours, if need be, just to take a bite. Minute Man of Arkansas is one such restaurant and is thankful for this outstanding honor and consideration.
