Missouri’s Christian County to Unveil Magic Library Xpress at Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Auburn Hills, MI (PRWEB) November 01, 2013 -- LEID Products, LLC., the leader of electronic locker and cabinet storage with biometric asset protection and control, today announced its newest iLibrary customer, Christian County Public Library in Missouri, will celebrate the grand opening of what it has coined the Magic Library Xpress this weekend from 1-3 p.m. on November 2nd. The county library is located over 10 miles from some of the community it serves; therefore, it has opened this remote pickup and drop-off location for library materials at the Xpress Mart in Highlandville, MO to better serve all patrons.
“The community is very excited about this new service. Until now, Highlandville and Spokane residents have had to drive 10 miles or more to access library materials,” said Taneesa Hall, executive secretary of Christian County Library. “The electronic library locker system from LEID Products was simple to set up, and we are looking forward to our grand opening celebration on Saturday.”
Like many small businesses, public libraries face heavy demand and traffic while struggling to maintain a steady budget. The LEID Products iLibrary System is a cost effective solution for libraries to make materials more accessible to all patrons, one of their top priorities. Library patrons will be able to choose the new Highlandville site when placing library materials on hold through the online catalog or by calling or emailing the library. Once notified that their items are ready for pick-up, they can visit the Shell gas station Xpress Mart. There, they will scan their library card at the electronically-controlled library lockers from LEID Products. The locker containing their requested materials will open automatically, and they can retrieve their materials. At the same location, there is also a drop-off bin.
“The county’s new Magic Library Xpress serves as more than just a remote location to meet convenience needs of its library patrons,” said Sam Hoff, president of LEID Products. “The system breaks through traditional 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. business hours, and enables a self-service option to provide consistency in accessibility regardless of the time of day.”
