This creative and desperate action led him to a vascular surgeon in the army who has a track record of finding talent where no one else is looking. Jack gets selected to take studies and do training leading to the medical field. It turns out he is very good, studies very hard, and progresses well, although not all the staff and surgeons are pleased. He meets a tough ethics professor who has heard of this possible phenom and wants to get a closer look. God gives Jack both challenges and success as he makes his way through the medical training. His confidence, the situations presented to him, and his remarkable leadership ability begin to bring respect. It is his new girlfriend who points out that none of this would have happened if God had not been by his side every step of the way. This leads him to first explore and then to jump into faith and Christianity. It seems that God keeps throwing challenges at him, and he keeps not only being successful but turning each situation into a significant accomplishment.
