Parkland, FL (PRWEB) April 27, 2017 -- WCI, a Lennar Company, broke ground on Wednesday, April 26 for its latest master-planned luxury community surrounding a 178-acre lake in Western Broward County – Parkland Bay.

The historic event took place on the future site of Parkland Bay, adjacent to where the community clubhouse will be located with a mile-long view down its centerpiece lake. It included a ceremonial groundbreaking with silver shovels, a virtual reality tour of the anticipated community, and speeches from Parkland Mayor Christine Hunschofsky, Broward County Commissioner Michael Udine, Lennar Palm Atlantic Division President Jon Rapaport, and Theresa Brier, Deputy District Director for Congressman Ted Deutch, who shared remarks from the Congressman.

Also appearing at the event were the remainder of the Parkland City Commission including Vice Mayor Stacy Kagan, Deputy Vice Mayor Ken Cutler, and City Commissioners Grace Solomon and Bob Mayersohn. Lennar Palm Atlantic Division Director of Sales Tara Jinks also joined, along with various members of the press and local community.

Parkland Bay will be a luxury gated community comprised of 552 spacious single-family homes within five distinct neighborhoods surrounding a 178-acre lake. Priced from the $500s to over $1.5 Million, the community’s one-and two-story home design will offer between 2,900 and 8,000 total sq. ft. of living space with three, four or five bedrooms, premium features, state-of-the-art appliances, and a variety of customizable options.

An abundance of opulent amenities will also be available at the community, including a grand 16,000 total sq. ft. clubhouse with a resort-style pool, spa, state-of-the-art fitness center, tennis courts, tot lot, culinary arts center, entertainment pavilion, and much more.

The groundbreaking is the final in a trifecta of successful launch events for Parkland Bay in recent days. A Realtor Preview event on April 20 drew nearly 300 realtors, and a Public Unveiling on April 22 attracted around 50 attendees. Mirroring the sophistication of the community, the events featured high-end details including catered refreshments, an ice sculpture of the Parkland Bay logo, and a sunset champagne toast at the community’s impressive lake. Interested homebuyers got the first choice of ideal home sites, and there have already been roughly 20 sales to date.
