Derwick Director Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt López says Venezuelan Energy Company Increases Power Availability
Caracas, Venezuela (PRWEB) December 26, 2013 -- Director Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt López of Derwick Associates, a Venezuelan Energy Company, assisted the country of Venezuela by building 12 power plants during an energy crisis. The company has experienced significant growth and expansion in the time since.
During Venezuela’s massive energy crisis, Derwick Associates stepped in where many other companies were either unwilling or unable.
The result was the successful development and installation of 12 power plants that would help to sustain many Venezuelan citizens throughout what many considered to be a crisis of incredible proportions.
The installation of these plants led to the rapid growth and expansion of Derwick Associates. The company’s directors, which include Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt López, Pedro Trebbau López, Edgard Romero Lazo and Francisco Convit Guruceaga, all credit this rapid growth as a major reason for their success, though they disagree on whether it is the central reason.
“It was as simple as seeing an opportunity to not only help our business, but to also help our countrymen,” said Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt Lopez. “So I think it wasn’t so much the rapid growth that has fueled our success, but rather the ability to seize an opportunity when it presents itself.”
That opportunity came in the form of the 12 power plant contracts that were awarded to Derwick back in 2009 and 2010. Derwick’s ability to develop and install these plants served as a great benefit to the country’s power grid during a time of great need. This helped to raise Derwick’s business profile, and has afforded them a number of other opportunities for expansion as well. The company recently announced that they would be exploring the expansion of their business operations to Spain.
“At the time, many companies were unwilling to take on those contracts for a variety of reasons,” said Lopez. “But when you get an opportunity such as that, you have to act. The other thing is, we wanted to help out our fellow Venezuelans as best as we could, so we really saw it as an opportunity we could not pass up.”
