New York, NY (PRWEB) April 24, 2014

Mention golf in Europe, and many people conjure up images of Scotland, Portugal’s Algarve or southern Spain. But there are other countries on the Continent – Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland – that also offer outstanding courses, some of which are found at, or very near, members of Leading Hotels. This summer, why not tee it up at one of these resorts?

The Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is the only resort in Switzerland to have two golf courses of its own. The long-established 18-hole PGA Championship Course has been a venue on the annual European Seniors Tour for more than 18 years, and has been endorsed by the Golf Course Association as the only one in Switzerland to be awarded 5 stars. Perfect for beginners, the 9-hole Executive Course with Golf Academy offers ideal practice facilities. Experts will find that the course offers a particular challenge for their short game skills. Each golf course has its own golf shop and restaurant. From now until October 30, 2014, the hotel is offering a three-night Leading Stay and Play package priced at CHF 520 per night, single; CHF 698 per night, double; which includes a welcome drink; daily buffet breakfast; two 18-hole green fees per person, per stay; high-speed Internet access; access to the Tamina Therme, tax and VAT.

In the center of the skiing area of Villars, the Chalet RoyAlp Hôtel & Spa boasts direct access to the slopes in winter and golfing in summer. It combines alpine-style interior furnishings and a modern setting with views of the Swiss Alps. A beautifully scenic 18-hole golf course located at 1600 meters above sea level allows guests to play golf in the heart of the mountains, with views of Mont Blanc. Other sporting facilities and venues include an educational woodland walk with a picnic hut; Nordic walking trails; a sport centre with ice rink, a swimming pool and climbing walls. Golfers and non-golfers alike can take advantage of the hotel’s breakfast inclusive offer, priced from CHF 380 per night, single or double, which includes daily buffet breakfast, access to the spa with swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and fitness room; access to the cinema room; and shuttle service to town. This package is available through March 2015.

The Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol is located in a nature reserve area in the Tyrolean Alps close to the charming city of Innsbruck, and not far from the famous castle of Neuschwanstein. This luxury resort at the Seefeld high plateau is the ideal destination for golf holidays in Tyrol. Just a 15-minute drive away is the challenging 18-hole Seefeld-Wildmoos golf course, set 1,300 meters above sea level. Golfers can also practice their swing whatever the weather in one of Austria’s most modern indoor golf facilities and perfect their game on the golf simulator. A handicap or golf proficiency certificate is required to use the facility. The hotel’s Leading Stay and Play offer is available from April 30 to October 30, 2014. Priced from EUR 1067, single, and EUR 1574, double, it includes three nights’ accommodation in a studio deluxe room; daily buffet breakfast; one rock-oil bath per person; one 25-minute massage per person; two green fees per room, per stay; daily six-course main meal; tax and service charge. A three-night minimum/maximum stay is required.

Set in Crans Montana, Switzerland, Hotel Guarda Golf, is the only property in the region to offer year-round luxury accommodations and serious golf. For average to expert handicap players, the 9-hole Jack Nicklaus course is right in front of the hotel, with beautiful views of the Valaisannes Alps, and is available from May until October. Even beginners can enjoy a round on the 18-hole Severiano Ballesteros course which hosts the Omega European Masters each year. Also open from May until October, this course requires a handicap. There are two other 18-hole handicap courses close by: Sierre, open March until December; and Sion, which is surrounded by Valère and Tourbillon castles. Even non-handicap players can get in a few rounds nearby at two 9-hole courses: Super Crans, geared for beginners and those looking to improve their game; and Noas, open nearly all year, and just ten minutes from the hotel. From June 12 to September 20, 2014, the hotel is offering Leading Stay and Play, with a three-night minimum/maximum stay requirement. Priced from CHF 950 per night, single or double occupancy, it includes daily in-room or buffet breakfast; two rounds of golf per room, per stay; non-alcoholic mini-bar items; Wi-Fi access; entrance to the spa; transfers within Crans Montana; service; taxes; and VAT.

Known as the "white town by the sea," Heiligendamm is set on Germany's Baltic coast. Its sand beaches, historic manor houses and expansive skies provide the perfect backdrop for the Grand Hotel Heiligendamm, and the hotel’s proximity to premium courses make it ideal for a golf holiday. Just five minutes away, The Baltic Golf Resort promises unforgettable rounds with a panoramic view of the sea. Golfers can choose the par 72 Eikhof championship course, or the compact 9-hole course, either way, they will experience the highest level of course design. Experts will face a sporting challenge, those with medium handicaps will score points with a clever tactical game, while players with higher handicaps can improve their game on the 9-hole course. Headed by pros – all members of PGA Germany – the hotel’s golf school offers the latest training methods, including digital systems to record the lessons. Valid until December 23, 2014, the Leading Stay and Play arrangement is priced from EUR 212 per night, single; EUR 254 per night, double; and includes daily buffet breakfast, two rounds of golf per person, and access to the Heiligendamm Spa. Among them are several attractive golf courses in the immediate vicinity. Courses for children and adults are offered by the Karwendel Golfclub, just 15 minutes away from the Schloss. Hotel staff can organize transfers and guests can benefit from a 20% discount on the green fees.
