HomeThangs.com Has Introduced A Guide To Themed Bar Lights
(PRWEB) July 12, 2013 -- HomeThangs.com – the Online Home Improvement Store has made their goal to deliver the right product to the consumer. With that in mind, shopping and home design tips, as well as special product selections are being introduced.
The home should always reflect the needs of the occupant, whether that means turning a patio into a kitchen, a loft into an art space, or a basement into a bar. For anyone with a big wine collection, a passion for beer, or a knack for mixing drinks, the last can be especially useful – a place to entertain, and to store and show off prized vintages. But no home bar is complete without the right lighting – and HomeThangs.com has introduced a guide to choosing themed bar lights to create a personalized style.
Some of the most effective bar lights are ones that are really more frames than anything. There are more than a few types of bar lights in this style, but the general idea is to create a display chandelier. Made of solid wrought iron frames surrounding one or more bulbs, the branches of display chandeliers or pendants are designed to hold stemware or one or more wine bottles. The former type usually comes with a set of basic wineglasses, but these can easily be removed and replaced to display a favorite set of glasses. Leaded crystal wine glasses will even sparkle like a traditional chandelier, creating a look that’s both posh and playful.
The dark glass used to make wine bottles is lovely to look at and often highly prized for crafting. So while full bottles should be stored in a cool, dark place to preserve the wine inside, once they’re emptied, they actually make for a great way to decorate. A very basic wire frame pendant light can be used to display individual bottles with a small spotlight shining directly on the label. This is not only an excellent way to show off rarer vintages, but gives a home bar a classy, upscale feel.
For something even more stunning, use empty bottles (with or without the label) to create a whole chandelier. A larger frame can be designed so about a dozen empty bottles can be securely fastened to it. The lights within shine out through the glass, so depending on the color of the bottles, it can actually alter the ambiance of a home bar.
It’s also possible to find bar lights that combine both glass and bottle display, in the form of island lights with simple wine storage on the top and inverted glass racks on the bottom. Unlike some of the other bar lights pictured here, these can be used to keep full bottles and usable glasses on hand, though they shouldn’t be used for long term storage of wine, as the lights shine directly onto the bottles. Still, for a smaller home bar this fixture nicely combines display and storage, allowing for the smooth serving of several bottles of wine.
Then again, some bar lighting is just plain fun. Pendant lights shaped after iconic bar symbols like the classic martini glass are playful and perfectly suited for a cocktail bar. Plus, since the cocktail glass is such an iconic shape, it isn’t difficult to coordinate with other accessories, like a martini-shaped sink, clock, neon light, and so on.
Other types of bar glassware might not be quite so iconic as the classic cocktail glass, but more than a few have been converted into stylish bar table lamps. From brandy snifters to beer steins, these themed bar lamps offer an excellent way to showcase a favorite type of alcohol and add a playful, personalized touch to a home bar.
