Lil’ Italy Bistro, in order to raise awareness of Hunger Action Month in September, will donate 20 percent of pizza sales from September 26-28 to emergency food pantry Bonita Springs Assistance Office. “Hunger exists in every state and county in America, and affects approximately 48 million people, including 15 million children,” said Scott Simone, owner of Lil’ Italy Bistro. “However, hunger is solvable with the help of caring people.”
Simone and Bonita Springs Assistance Office, which provides food supplies to households in a crisis situation, are asking everyone in the community to take action to fight hunger throughout the month of September. This can be achieved by advocating, raising awareness, volunteering or donating.
Lil’ Italy Bistro, a family owned Italian eatery, pizzas include the Lil’ Italy Suprema, which features pepperoni, sausage, bacon, peppers, onions and black olives; the Bianca, a classic white pizza; and the Margarita, which includes marinara sauce, ovalini mozzarella, fresh tomatoes and basil. The restaurant also has a veggie pizza.
