Linda Sue Hocutt Teaches Pet Responsibility in New Children’s Book
Hartland, WI (PRWEB) December 13, 2013 -- The United States Humane Society estimates that approximately 47 percent of households in the country have at least one dog, making this furry pet one of the most popular in the country. In her new children’s book, "Where's Charlie?" (published by AuthorHouse), author Linda Sue Hocutt introduces young readers to a sweet, mischievous puppy and teaches them how to interact with and train dogs.
Charlie is a newly adopted puppy who loves his owners and their young daughter, who plays with Charlie every day and keeps him out of trouble. She is also responsible for feeding Charlie as well as keeping him clean. Children will learn along with Hocutt’s young protagonist as she learns to care for her puppy.
An excerpt from "Where’s Charlie?":
"One early Sunday morning as I was sleeping in my bed, when all of a sudden, I felt something jumping all over me and licking my face. It was our puppy Charlie!"
Hocutt’s ambition for the book is to give readers an understanding of small, young animals and stress the importance of responsibility.
