Linking Families And Communities Releases 2016 Updates On Services Provided For Calhoun, Pocahontas And Webster Counties In Iowa.
Fort Dodge, Iowa (PRWEB) January 20, 2016 -- Linking Families and Communities serves as the Early Childhood Iowa Area for the counties of Calhoun, Pocahontas and Webster in Iowa. Focusing on the State Early Childhood Iowa Results consists of promoting healthy children, providing resources that prepare children to succeed in school and encourage safe and supportive communities to assist with these resources.
Key priorities have been recognized by Linking Families and Communities as directives for accomplishing their 2016 objectives. Education to families on parenting and child development, the quality of child care, mental health, and providing access to resources have been identified as necessary elements in achieving successful outcomes.
In 2015, Model Status on the Levels of Excellence was earned by the agency. The rating system measures success towards reaching identified goals. Areas that are reviewed to receive acknowledgement cover community planning, annual report, board operations, public awareness, quality programming, adherence to state regulations and fiduciary soundness of the agency.
The Levels of Excellence review consists of two components. A portfolio of material that contains proof that each criteria of the Levels of Excellence has been met and an on-site visit. The on-site visit also requires meetings with board members, meetings with area service providers and a contract review process.
Financial assistance is a direct result of the Model Designation as a yearly stipend of $2,500 is provided to be used towards the costs of the annual audit and a one-time stipend of $400 is provided to be used towards the purchase of technology (computer). The Designation also rewards the organization with a longer time (5 years) between Levels of Excellence reviews and site audits.
"The goals, as set in our community plan, provide direction on the administration of the Early Childhood Iowa Funding so that we accomplish our objectives," states Elizabeth Stanek, Excecutive Director of Linking Families and Communities.
