New book ‘Joel’s Chance’ shares word of God with children of God
MANDEVILLE, La. (PRWEB) March 11, 2015 -- Scaling a mountain can be a daunting goal, but for those brave enough to face their fears, it can be an exhilarating feat. Through the story of a boy who dreams of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, author Lisa Maheu spreads a vital message about God’s word in her new book for pre-teens, “Joel's Chance” (published by WestBow Press).
All his life, Joel dreamed of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and reaching the very highest summit. He finally gets the chance and cannot wait to begin the climb, but he never expected to encounter the perils and pitfalls he experiences on his ascent.
With only his faith to keep him warm, Joel and his friends Enrico and Francesca embark on the epic climb up Mount Kilimanjaro. They face relentless cold and enduring hunger. It takes all of Joel’s strength and faith in Jesus Christ to reach the top.
Though Joel’s story, Maheu illustrates that God is always present when he is needed. She hopes her readers will learn to look to God when they face great challenges and obstacles.
