Lisi Mayer Launches New Marketing Campaign for Self-Analysis Book

(PRWEB) May 26, 2015 -- Retired psychiatrist and author Lisi Mayer is pursuing a new marketing campaign for her 2011 memoir, “Spirit's Path” (published by AuthorHouse), wherein she details personal traumas encountered surviving childhood rape, sexual abuse and the deaths of nuclear family members. Mayer paints an intimate and striking picture of one woman’s descent into the deepest challenges of life.
“My life has encapsulated all the important social concerns of the 20th century: identity crisis, separation and abandonment, homosexuality, marriage and divorce, and cancer treatment,” says Mayer.

“In writing this memoir, I have used the third person in order to present my story from the viewpoint of an observing ego. The use of ‘I’ and ‘me’ can become tiresome for the reader. I have also changed the protagonist’s first name to Karla, as it was easier to give myself some distance from my story. Additionally, some living persons have fictitious first names.
“I relate major events in this book—events that have shaped my character, emphasizing the importance of family relationships during my life. The spiritual guidance I have received, and been aware of receiving, is also chronicled. Because I have been a practicing psychiatrist for the greater part of my life, I also tried to focus on the practice of medicine, including alternative medicine such as acupuncture and meditation. I have practiced eclectic psychiatry, combining physical approaches and meditation with psychotherapy, herbs, and medications.
