Financial Poise™ Webinars and West LegalEdcenter are pleased to announce the September 28th premiere of a new webinar series “Newbie Litigation School, Part 1, 2016," designed to introduce attorneys to the basics of civil litigation. Moderator Robert Michaels of Robinson Curley & Clayton joins panelists from firms including Jenner & Block, Greenberg Traurig, Reed Smith and Bryan Cave to discuss the fundamentals.

This series from Financial Poise™ Webinars is aimed at attorneys who are just starting to get involved in civil litigation, or who could use a refresher on some litigation fundamentals. The purpose is to introduce different components of litigation in the order they generally occur, beginning with the basic rules of civil procedure and continuing through discovery, dispositive motions, and working with experts.

The series is best viewed as a whole, building from one session to the next, and then segueing into a second series in early 2017 covering the next phase of litigation (rules of evidence, trial, appeal, and post-judgment enforcement/collection).

The first episode of the series, "Federal Rules of Civil Procedure Refresher," airs on September 28th at 2pm CST (Register Here) and features moderator Robert S. Michaels of Robinson Curley & Clayton P.C. He is joined by Reena Bajowala of Jenner & Block, Matt Cannon of Greenberg Traurig and Melissa Visconti of Damian & Valori.

What procedures govern federal civil litigation? This session will address the basics. We will cover venue and jurisdiction, pleading requirements, affirmative defenses and counterclaims, discovery, dispositive motions, pre-trial and trial practice.
