New Litigation Support Service Provides Predictable Pricing with Predictive Coding.

Electronic discovery company DSi (formerly Document Solutions, Inc.) has implemented a new litigation support service called Predictive Plus, which combines eDiscovery, technology assisted review and attorney review services into one predictable per-gigabyte pricing model.

DSi’s alignment with Counsel On Call, a leading provider of managed services solutions and experienced attorney teams, enables them to provide an efficient bundling of eDiscovery services. Predictive Plus includes data ingestion, data processing, deduplication, date and file type filtering, predictive coding and first-pass review with technology.

At the same time, they want to take advantage of predictive coding technology, allowing software to intelligently find responsive documents. Predictive Plus starts with data ingestion. Information is processed through DSi’s leveraged industry-standard technology, such as Clearwell, Catalyst or Eclipse, and initial filters are applied to the data, such as file type, date and deduplication. The next step is predictive coding, which begins with Counsel On Call attorneys training the system through seed sets on concepts pertinent to the case. DSi’s system produces additional small sets of documents for further review by Counsel On Call, and the platform analyzes the results to fine-tune the calibration.

The advanced technology “learns” what is responsive or privileged and applies that knowledge to the entire data population, effectively serving as a first-pass review. The end result is smaller, targeted data sets and an enhanced, streamlined review.

Additionally, Predictive Plus’ pricing model accommodates the reduced document set with a second pricing tier for only the data pushed to review, keeping costs to a minimum. The review attorneys are available to continue the process with in-depth linear review, providing consistency.
