Litmus Automation and its Loop Middleware Cloud IoT Platform Attract $1.5MM Funding
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) October 31, 2016 -- Litmus Automation, an Internet of Things (IoT) platform provider, today announced that the company has secured a seed round of US$1.5MM through a number of reputable private angels from the US and Canada.
While the IoT platform market has been hot with acquisitions and new entrants, this stealth company has garnered traction with Fortune 500 companies and has positioned itself as a leader in the connected car and industrial spaces. The company graduated last year from one the top accelerators in the US, the Alchemist Accelerator, and took part in two Canadian accelerators, Ryerson Futures/DMZ and MaRS.
“Through early client adoption, we have learned the pain points of large clients in the connected car and industrial spaces, even at a time when we were still developing our platform,” said Vatsal Shah, CEO/Co-founder of Litmus Automation. “We now have a production-ready platform suited for businesses looking to take projects from proof-of-concepts to full production quickly, securely and with complete ease.”
This is the company’s first round of funding, having been client-funded since its inception at the end of 2013 and it has a track record of generating revenues quite early on from clients looking to exploit IoT quickly.
Litmus Automation’s core product, Loop, is a middleware cloud platform for the Internet of Things. With Loop, companies can securely connect any type of hardware, device, sensor or machine to the Internet and in real-time integrate the data being collected to any third-party software application or enterprise system (e.g. ERP, CRM, big data analytics, dashboards). Loop allows companies to have one centralized backend infrastructure for their IoT projects, lowering the time-to-market and infrastructure costs needed to deploy solutions. The company also offers LoopEdge, the world’s first ever edge-level marketplace that can be deployed on gateways. LoopEdge allows applications to be deployed on the edge, and provides an industrial driver marketplace which enables any gateway to interact easily with proprietary protocols from various vendors.
“Litmus Automation’s Loop platform has been integral for us to deliver rapid Internet of Things solutions to the market for both the connected car and manufacturing,” said Koji Kamimura, Global Manager of Connected Services Data at Nissan. “Litmus offers the industry’s best platform where we can build all our IoT use cases quickly and effectively to deliver the best possible experience for our consumers.”
Litmus Automation has partnered with companies such as Intel, Salesforce, Kyra Solutions, HMS, Ingram Micro, Momenta Partners, and more. The company has garnered considerable traction especially in the industrial and automotive sectors, and boasts Nissan and Renault as some of their biggest Fortune 500 clients. The ability for quick proof-of-concept turnaround and swift migration to production deployment has enabled them to close large clients in a crowded space.
Litmus Automation will be using the funds raised to further bolster up their team, having already hired David Sidhu, VP Customer Success, an industry veteran with large multinational experience in IoT. The company will continue developing their platform based on client feedback and industry needs in order to deliver the best solution to the market.
