SYLVANIA, Ohio (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- Meant as a bedtime story for his two sons, author Jeffrey Otersen reveals a tale of excitement and adventure in his new publication, “Little Truckers” (published by Xlibris).
This book follows a legendary semi-truck named Petee, who begins to think he is too old for his job on the road. Mr. McClainey surprises all of the trucks at Shamrock Lucking Trucking Company in Truckington, Ohio, with a brand-new, state-of-the-art semi-truck named Vahnders. The latter thinks he can do everything better and faster than any other truck. It is no surprise, then, when Mr. McClainey sends him on his first assignment – to deliver some very important freight, which has a deadline. Meanwhile, Mr. McClainey calls the scrap yard to have some old junk scrap metal hauled away. Petee is one of them. But when Vahnders gets stranded on top of Big Bear Mountain in a blizzard, who can they count on to save the day?
Humorous and action-packed, Petee’s adventure explores the world of machinery and gives a glimpse into the life of truck drivers. It also sheds light into the situations of some people nowadays who are laid off from work in order to be replaced by those who have more knowledge on technology. Petee represents them and their dilemma – the feeling of being unwanted and useless because there is someone better who can do the job.
Imparting a valuable lesson to young readers, “Little Truckers” is a fascinating ride through the ups and downs of Petee who finds purpose in his old age.
