Fairfield Theatre Company Welcomes Husband and Wife Music Duo, Tuck & Patti
Fairfield, CT (PRWEB) August 06, 2013 -- For nearly three decades, Tuck & Patti, the unique vocal and guitar jazz duo, have cast their passionate musical spell worldwide by capturing the hearts of lovers and the respect of jazz buffs. Now this dynamic musical couple has found their way back to Fairfield Theatre Company’s intimate StageOne on Aug. 8 at 7:30pm.
Tuck and Patti return to FTC’s StageOne with their jazz, R&B, gospel sound that encompasses many musical textures including influences like Jimi Hendrix’s sonic explosive qualities, touring in support of their latest release, “I Remember You.”
With 29 years of performing together and 26 years of marriage, the devotion forged by this extraordinary couple shows no sign of diminishing, partly due to their instinct for refining music, technique and their creed; “It's not done if it's not from the heart.”
Both Tuck and Patti were fortunate enough to come from musical families where records of all types were spinning on the turntable. Tuck's father had been a leader of a jazz band in college and his older sister inspired him with her studies of classical piano. "Little did I know that I was getting tremendous ear training that would serve me for a lifetime," Tuck mentions.
Patti, on the other hand, seemed to be born a singer. Instead of talking, Patti recalls that she would “sing a running stream-of-consciousness commentary on life. Many people in my family sang; I started singing in church, was leading youth choirs at age 10, and directing the adult choirs before I was 16.” She now exudes a soft centered, yet powerful voice which incorporates gospel, jazz and soul.
Add Patti’s voice to that of Tuck’s multifaceted guitar work and the result is a sound that surprises first timers while leaving life-time fans in shock in awe again and again.
Doors open at 7 p.m. on Aug. 8, with Tuck & Patti set to take the stage at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $45 in advance. Members get a $5 discount. Call the box office for tickets at 203-259-1036 or reserve online at http://fairfieldtheatre.org.
