Bowker Insurance Group Announces a New Charity Campaign in Livonia, MI to Raise Funds for a Hospitalized Local Boy
Livonia, MI (PRWEB) March 07, 2016 -- Bowker Insurance Group of the western Detroit metro area rolls out another remarkable charity campaign as part of its ongoing efforts to support local people with their community enrichment program. The latest campaign is for Andrew Locano, a ten-year-old boy suffering from two severe, life-threatening conditions. A lifetime of surgeries and medical bills, as well as his recent hospitalization, has pushed his hard-working parents to the financial brink. Compassionate members of the community may provide economic assistance by donating here: https://www.gofundme.com/ugkmuc.
The Locano family is peopled with heroes. Charles is a sergeant with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and Shelia works at Beaumont Hospital, where they both labor to help others. Their ten-year-old son, Andrew, has spent his short life battling two severe, life-threatening conditions, hypoplastic left heart syndrome and CD4 lymphopenia, for which he has been hospitalized several times in the last year. Three open-heart surgeries by the age of 4 and a weakened immune system have taken their toll, but this young hero fights on. Understandably, his family is finding it difficult to keep up with basic living expenses, as well as skyrocketing medical expenses.
“I can’t begin to imagine what this family has gone through,” said Cheryl Bowker, owner of Bowker Insurance Group. “Imagine the challenges inherent in fighting daily for your child’s life – and keeping two jobs and a family going at the same time. This is a perfect fit for our Community Program and we really hope everyone will rally around this brave family.”
The agency has a fundraising goal of $500, which will go to provide immediate financial relief for Andrew’s parents. The caring team at Bowker Insurance’s three area locations is reaching out to professional and personal contacts with a social media and email awareness campaign, and encouraging people to spread the word by forwarding information to their own contacts. Additionally, the cause for the Locano family is being featured in the agency’s monthly magazine, Our Hometown, which is delivered to thousands of households in the greater western Detroit metro area. The electronic Flipbook version of the current issue may be accessed here: http://www.bowkerinsurancegroup.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_41. Bowker Insurance has made it easy for everyone to help by pledging to donate $10 to the family for each and every recommendation they receive for an insurance quote, with no purchase necessary.
