Local Dermatology Practice Raises Awareness and Support for Local Charity

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Jan. 5, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In October, Village Dermatology held its 11th annual Botox & Bingo event. This year, like last year, was virtual, and the event exceeded all expectations. Each year, Village Dermatology raises money through a fun event entitled "Botox & Bingo," where participants are allowed to purchase as many Bingo cards as they would like to increase their chances of winning. Throughout the night, four Bingo games are played with increasing prizes as the night progresses. "It is such a fun event every year for our patients and community," explained Audrey Easterwood, Practice Administrator. "This year, several people hosted Botox & Bingo parties at their houses so their close friends and family could enjoy the event. I think a lot of our patients knew what to expect this year since we were virtual last year, and they made the most out of this annual event."

All proceeds generated by the sale of Bingo cards are donated to a local charity in the Birmingham area. This year, Village Dermatology donated the proceeds to The WellHouse. The Wellhouse provides opportunities to female victims of human trafficking who have been sexually exploited. They have several different programs available to individuals in need of this service, and they have an entire team of professionals ready to help these victims.

"This charity is near and dear to my heart," explained Dr. Jenny Sobera. "I visited the campus at The WellHouse and was immediately struck by the overwhelming need for this type of service in our community. Many individuals don't realize that the interstates that dissect our little city are some of the major roads used when trafficking these girls. We love being able to support this charity with our event and raising awareness about this issue in our community."
