We created a gift card that includes hand-picked participants – but excludes others. Nationwide chains need not apply.
Overland Park, Kansas (PRWEB) November 18, 2013
LocalEats – one of the top dining apps for iPhone, iPad and Android over the last 5 years – is introducing a gift card program specifically designed for locally owned restaurants. A select group of LocalEats restaurants across the U.S. will participate at the outset of the program.
This private-label gift card will be sold exclusively online at http://giftcards.localeats.com/. Recipients will receive a gift card in the mail, which they can redeem at any restaurant participating in the LocalEats gift card program.
The program utilizes StoreFinancial’s restricted authorization network (RAN), which enables organizations with multiple entities or merchants to connect with one another through a single prepaid card program, regardless of affiliation or point-of-sale system.
Brian Relleva, LocalEats Chief Operations Officer explains, “With tens of thousands of unaffiliated, independently owned restaurants, we created a gift card that includes hand-picked participants – but excludes others, such as national chains. StoreFinancial has that capability.”
LocalEats’ mission is guiding discerning diners to the best independently owned restaurants. “Nationwide chains need not apply,” Relleva continues. “LocalEats is dedicated to providing the top curated restaurant guide in America – featuring only the best local restaurants, from high-end steak houses and sushi bars to roadside diners and barbecue joints.”
The company has been recognized by the New York Times, USA Today, FORBES, TIME and MacWorld as one of the best dining resources available. Plus, the LocalEats iPhone, iPad and Android apps and website are leading sources for the best regional dining information nationwide. The app can find restaurants nearby using a smartphone’s GPS technology and provide the user with directions as well as the ability to make reservations, call a cab, or save a listing to their favorites. Their parent company, Magellan Press, Inc., also produces the popular “Where the Locals Eat book series” LocalEats is the digital arm of these dining guides.
StoreFinancial’s RAN platform is an alternative to open-loop and closed-loop prepaid cards that enables clients to choose their own private merchant network. Any merchant the client chooses can participate – regardless of affiliation, POS system, or geography – as long as they accept MasterCard® or Visa®.
Over the past 10 years, StoreFinancial has become the international leader in private-label prepaid card programs, partnering with retail chains, sports and entertainment venues, hotels, shopping centers, franchises and more. Visit http://www.storefinancial.com for more information.
