Norwalk-based Inspira Marketing Group and LogicSource Team Up to Help Local Wilton Runners Become Top Fundraising Team in Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s 2013 Million
Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) October 17, 2013 -- Inspira Marketing Group and LogicSource, both based in Norwalk, CT, have presented checks totaling $16,500.00 to support the Wilton Cure-iors charity runners in their quest to raise money for pediatric cancer research as part of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s Million Mile Run. Both Inspira and LogicSource pledged to donate $1 for each mile a member of the Wilton Cure-iors Team ran or walked in the Million Mile Run as part of September’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. With the support of the local businesses the Wilton Cure-iors raised more $60,000 for the cause.
Each family or individual member of the Wilton Cure-iors pledged to walk or run 100 miles during the month-long race. Ultimately, the team logged more than 8,200 miles and more than tripled its original fundraising goal of $20,000, which the team had reached by Day 2 of the event. The Wilton Cure-iors were the number one fundraising team in this year’s event and the fourth team overall for miles logged. Organizers reported that 829 teams from 18 countries, all 50 states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico participated in this year’s Million Mile Run logging more than 225,000 miles and raising nearly $500,000 collectively.
“Getting LogicSource on board demonstrated this great sense of community and the ability to go after a bigger goal for the greater good. LogicSource put us over the $60,000 mark. They are a shining example of good corporate citizenship and they reinforce what’s great about people,” said Jeff Snyder, founder and Chief Inspiration Officer at Inspira Marketing Group who personally ran over 200 miles for the fundraiser. Snyder’s daughter has been battling cancer for ten years. “I’m proud of LogicSource, my staff, and the Wilton Cure-iors. They have shown our ability to walk the talk one step at a time for over 8,000 miles.”
“We are thrilled to support such an important cause and such an amazing team of runners and walkers,” said David Pennino, President and Chief Executive Officer of LogicSource. “Our commitment as a company is to serve the community in which we operate. It’s a privilege to do business here, but it’s a blessing to be able to walk and run alongside our friends and neighbors and match their efforts with funding for critical pediatric cancer research. Congratulations to every member of the Wilton Cure-iors team. We are 8,000 miles closer to a cure today!”
