Lorde’s first album, called Pure Heroine, made its way atop the Billboard album charts after it was released in September. She sold almost 500,000 copies in the US alone, so she knows her tour should sell out easily. Her hit single, Royals, alone was downloaded a whopping 3.9 million times! She is the youngest artist to write all of her own songs all while topping the charts. Quite an achievement.
The New Zealand star is only 17 years old, but has become an international star quickly. Her tour will include back to back shows at New York’s Roseland Ballroom, which Lady Gaga will be closing out in April. Her first American performance was only a month ago, in Le Poisson Rouge in New York.
