Lotus Foods Organic Rice Ramen Noodle Soup Cups Win 2019 NEXTY Award for “Best Supply Chain Partnership Represented”

We are grateful to be recognized for our work supporting our growers as they take important steps to convert their farming practices to more sustainable methods

Lotus Foods, the leading heirloom and organic rice and rice ramen company, won a 2019 NEXTY Award for “Best Supply Chain Partnership Represented” for their Organic Rice Ramen Noodle Soup Cups. The awards were announced on March 7 at the Natural Products Expo West show in Anaheim, CA, the natural and organic industry’s largest trade show of the year.

Lotus Foods was recognized for its work with Dalian Hongren, its supply partner in China, and their unique 23-year relationship converting suppliers to organic production in order to increase both the amount of organic rice grown as well as the income of the growers. This year, Lotus Foods is also celebrating 10 years of its More Crop Per Drop™ program that supports rice growers around the world through training on smart agricultural practices that protect and restore natural resources, improve incomes and quality of life for farmers, especially women, and reduce climate impact.

The NEXTY Awards, given by New Hope Network, are the pinnacle recognition of excellence in the natural products industry and are awarded to one stand-out product in each of 23 categories. The awards highlight companies and products that help forward the CPG industry to deliver more healthful, trusted and sustainable products to consumers. In September 2017, Lotus Foods was one of two winners of the inaugural NEXTY Gold Award at Natural Products Expo East. The NEXTY Gold Award honors companies that display the utmost in innovation, integrity and inspiration.

“We are grateful to be recognized for our work supporting our growers as they take important steps to convert their farming practices to more sustainable methods. For us, improving the quality of life of these small-scale mostly female farmers is the highest reward and we will continue to support our supply chain to change the way rice is grown around the world,” said Caryl Levine, Co-Founder/Co-CEO of Lotus Foods.

Also at Natural Products Expo West, Lotus Foods announced the award-winning Organic Rice Ramen Noodle Soup Cups (launched in August 2018) will have a newly designed microwaveable cup. Ready in just 3 minutes, anyone, anytime can enjoy Lotus Foods’ modern twist on the traditional Asian cup of noodles with whole grain never-fried organic brown rice noodles and exciting flavors like Red Miso, Masala Curry and Tom Yum.
