New Book is an Insightful Glimpse to the Struggles of Gay People
Brisbane, Australia (PRWEB) July 03, 2014 -- Working as a clinical psychiatrist opened Louis Paulus’ eyes to the lives and the relationships of gay people. In his new book, “Healing Moon” (published by Xlibris AU), he shares a collection of stories based on his clinical notes. These stories encapsulate the journey of people coming to terms with their identity and sexuality.
Paulus’ profession required him to ask his patients many probing, sometimes sensitive, questions. The one question that he found was able to reduce even the most macho of men to doubt and dismay was simply, “Do you think you may be gay?” This book narrates the sometimes humorous and sometimes painful events that ensued after that one question. All of the eight stories in the book are based on real-life experiences of his patents, although their names have been changed.
“Healing Moon” offers a glimpse into the challenges and, in many cases, the triumphs of people coming to terms with their sexuality. With clarity and tender understanding, Paulus offers this book as a way to help gay people feel less alone but also for their parents and loved ones to better understand them.
