DALLAS (PRWEB) October 14, 2014 -- Long Range Systems (LRS), a leading supplier of technology that improves and enhances the guest experience, announced today the hiring of Dan Murphy as chief revenue officer. In this role, Murphy will oversee the company’s U.S.-based sales team as well as develop the domestic dealer and reseller channels in key sales verticals.
Murphy most recently served as vice president of sales for AIRTAG US, which provides mobile ordering, marketing and payment solutions for restaurants and retail concepts. Prior to that, Murphy was senior sales director for Radiant/NCR in the Hosted Solutions Division working with a sizeable distribution channel network and channel partners in the restaurant, hospitality and retail space.
Murphy joins LRS amidst the company’s transition from a traditional paging company into an enterprise software company focused on improving operational efficiency and the guest experience. “Companies are becoming less dependent on hardware and more dependent on services,” said Murphy. “LRS is focused on that reoccurring revenue model, cloud services, how we deliver that to our customers, and what that means for their customer experience.”
“Dan’s extensive experience in hospitality operations, sales and sales management make him a great fit for this position,” said Skip Cass, CEO of LRS. “His vision is right in line with the ongoing evolution of our 21-year-old company.”
Known as the inventors of the “coaster pager” found in restaurants worldwide, LRS has expanded its offerings beyond its well-established hardware products. Earlier this year, LRS launched Table Tracker, On Cue and Check Point, software-based solutions for tracking, wait list management and guest management.
Murphy got his start as an owner of three different restaurants in New York before making the transition to selling technology solutions, so he knows first hand the challenges faced in the hospitality industry and the solutions that enable success.
“Every step of my career in retail, hospitality and technology has led me to this opportunity,” said Murphy. “I am looking forward to helping customers across multiple verticals create efficiencies in their business, offer a better guest experience and become more profitable.”
