Greg Adler and Team 4 Wheel Parts Brace for Silver State Showdown
Compton, California (PRWEB) August 12, 2016 -- This weekend, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing series will roar into Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, Nevada just outside of Reno for Rounds 11&12 of series competition. For the weekend doubleheader, Saturday and Sunday, August 13-14, Greg Adler and Team 4 Wheel Parts will be among the rowdy herd of 900-HP Pro 4 trucks attempting to tame the mile-long track as they to turn the corner on a season that has seen its share of dramatic highlights.
“We’ve definitely had our share of excitement this season and with this new truck we have had some strong showings, but we have also come home from a couple of disappointing weekends,” said Adler. “These are the best off-road racers in the world and with this veteran team we know how hard it is to capture a win. We tried some things with the truck that didn’t achieve the results we were looking for so we’re going back to what we know works. Now, we’re headed to Reno with our sights on getting the #10 on the podium and the season on the right track.”
Nobel Prize winning novelist, Ernest Hemingway is often credited with saying, "There are only three true sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games." While it is disputed whether the acclaimed writer actually said these words, it is an absolute certainty that the short course off-road track at Wild West Motorsports Park truly encompasses the extreme nature of those pursuits.
On Saturday and Sunday afternoon, Greg Adler will be arguably combining all of these elements throughout each 16-lap Pro 4 stanza. While Hemingway never had the opportunity to witness the chaos and excitement of short course off-road racing, he clearly would have hailed the majesty of the Wild West track. Carved into a hillside quarry featuring high speeds, extreme elevation changes and massive drop offs that would give an Olympic ski jumper pause, it’s the fierce test of man and machine the author would have admired.
“What they have built here is extremely impressive,” said Adler. “We just came from Glen Helen which is a tight, technical track and now this transition to a big, wide open, fast course that is unlike any other facility will present some unique challenges. Now that we are heading into the final third of the season, every position counts and no one will be holding back.”
The drama will unfold on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Adler and the Pro 4 field taking the green flag with enough thunderous horsepower to unleash the ghosts of the Wild West as they kick off the action in front of what is expected to be a capacity crowd in Sparks. Tickets to what has been dubbed the “Silver State Showdown” are available at the gate or may be purchased in advance by visiting lucasoiloffroad.com.
